GSR-SP is Ending Its Operations and Dissolving the Organization:
It is with a deep sense of sadness, but also with a belief that we served our mission well, that we are announcing the dissolution of German Shepherd Rescue of Southeastern Pennsylvania after more than 26 years of operation. In that time, we have directly fostered and saved over 400 German Shepherds and helped facilitate the adoption of many hundreds more from shelters and owners seeking to rehome their dogs. Know that GSR-SP's Board did not come to the decision to go out of business lightly, but the combination of losing our liability insurance and being unable to secure new coverage, together with a shortage of foster volunteers, has made this outcome inevitable.
GSR-SP WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING ANY DONATIONS.
Pending the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's review and issuance of a letter of non-objection, GSR-SP will distribute all remaining fund s to other nonprofit organizations in our area that are actively rescuing German Shepherds. Any questions regarding GSR-SP's dissolution can be directed to the organization's board president, Lisa, at LM19115@aol.com
We appreciate the wonderful support we have received from so many of our donors, adopters and great volunteers over the years and thank you all for caring about the breed and believing in the rescue concept. All of you collectively are responsible for saving the lives of so many dogs. Please keep educating others about the need to save dogs from shelters and rescues rather than buying a puppy and remember our motto -
"Don't Shop, ADOPT!"
If you are seeking to donate, adopt and/or volunteer, there are many other organizations in our area that serve a similar mission to GSR-SP and we recommend you research which best serves your goals. There will always be GSDs that continue to need our help to find forever homes.
